Michigan is one of the Midwest’s premier states for fly fishing, host to some of the very best fly fishing destinations East of the Mississippi.  There are some 52 rivers and streams designated by the state’s DNR as ideal habitat for wild trout.  Of course, if you’re going fly fishing in Michigan, you will likely want to stop in to one of the many local fly shops for some local knowledge and to pick up a few flies… oh sure, you may have reviewed the hatch charts for the Michigan fly season, however, most fly shops have their own recipes on the standard flies which may give you that little extra something – a secret recipe, if you will, that the local trout have a hunger for.
