Fly fishing in Michigan will test your bug skills. The waters of the big mitten are home to a wickedly diverse bunch of flies that trout absolutely love. Everything from the tiny Trico all the way up to the narley Hex – one of the largest mayflies in North America. Your job is to figure out what they’re feeding on now. Oh sure we have hatch charts, and thank God. Note the charts below are the normal hatch periods… of course they can come sooner… or later, so check with the local fly shops to see what’s happening today/night.
