Fly Fishing With An Attitude – Come On, Tie One On!
Tennessee Fly Fishing Shops
Tennessee has some of the most diverse fly fishing opportunities that you’ll find. Our list of Tennessee Fly Shops provides where to go to get the stuff you need to make the most of your trip.
Middle Tennessee offers larger rivers (well I know that is relative) that really don’t look like your ideal trout water, but can yield a bounty of trout. Then you have East Tennessee, the Smokey Mountains, that offer some really small creeks that present some solid challenges but hold an abundance of native trout in many flavors; brooks, browns, a rainbow or two, and even a cutthroat now and then.
Oddly, for the amount of water, there just aren’t that many fly shops, well… let me rephrase that… there are that many of the traditional fly shops – those that are strictly fly fishing only shops. Well I suppose that makes it all the more important to support these shops if/when you’re in the area. Don’t just go for the advice – what’s rising, best times to be on the water, etc. – but make a purchase; a hat, t-shirt, a couple of flies, some tippet, whatever.
Oh, and tell them The Wicked Fly sent ya!
